PepsiCo Making Strides in Sustainability : pep+positive

PepsiCo is a leading food and beverage company with a strong commitment to sustainability. Here are some highlights from their recent results:

  • Agriculture: PepsiCo is working towards regenerative farming practices on over 1.8 million acres of land. Their goal is to reach 7 million acres by 2030.

  • Water Stewardship: PepsiCo has improved water-use efficiency by 22% in high water-risk watersheds, exceeding their goal of 15% by 2025 two years early. They've also replenished 12 billion+ liters of water into local watersheds in 2023.

  • Value Chain: PepsiCo has reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 13% year-over-year and reduced total Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 5% year-over-year.

  • Choices: PepsiCo is committed to offering more sustainable products. They've achieved a 77% reduction in saturated fat across their convenient foods portfolio, exceeding their goal of 75% by 2025. Additionally, 75 billion portions of their global convenient foods portfolio delivered more diverse ingredients such as legumes, whole grains, plant-based proteins, fruits and vegetables and nuts and seeds.

  • People: PepsiCo is dedicated to diversity and inclusion. They have achieved 45% of managerial positions worldwide held by women.
